• WHAT WE DO
Five programmes. One path from vulnerability to self-reliance.
Through vocational training, literacy, community outreach, food relief, and refugee enterprise, Trickle Up Kenya builds sustainable livelihoods in Njiru.
One holistic approach to community transformation
Vocational Centre
Practical, employable skills for youth, women, and vulnerable adults — from tailoring and hairdressing to ICT, electrical installation, catering, and more. Skills people can turn into income, not just certificates.
Language Hub
Adult and digital literacy support that helps community members — including refugee families new to Kenya — read, write, communicate, and participate confidently in everyday and economic life.
Community Outreach
Volunteer mobilization, mentorship, prayer walks, and grassroots partnerships that keep Trickle Up rooted in the neighbourhoods we serve — not operating above them.
Food Drive
Food assistance and household support for vulnerable families and refugee households facing food insecurity, delivered with dignity and paired with longer-term empowerment, not one-off handouts.
Skills Elevation
Mentorship, product development, and market access support that helps beneficiaries — including refugee entrepreneurs with strong craft and culinary skills — convert what they already know into sustainable livelihoods.
Vocational Centre
Building on our founding vision, the Vocational Centre equips youth, women, and vulnerable adults with practical, income-generating skills. Since inception, more than 440 youth and women have trained here — several now running their own businesses.
Vocational Skills & Economic Empowerment
Market-aligned trade training — tailoring, electrical, ICT, catering, and more — equipping youth and women with income-generating skills and the confidence to start micro-enterprises. NITA-accredited where applicable.
Language Hub
Literacy is the doorway to everything else. The Language Hub delivers adult and digital literacy training that helps community members, including newly arrived refugee families, read, write, and navigate digital tools with confidence.
Adult & Digital Literacy
Structured adult literacy and numeracy classes for school dropouts, newly arrived refugees, and marginalized adults who have never had access to formal education. Paired with basic digital skills: email, smartphones, and internet navigation.
Community Outreach
Through volunteer mobilization, mentorship, community prayer walks, and grassroots partnerships, Community Outreach keeps Trickle Up embedded in the neighbourhoods we serve.
Leadership Development & Discipleship
Intentional discipleship programmes, Bible study, and leadership mentorship that nurture moral character alongside professional development — because we believe lasting transformation is spiritual as much as it is practical.
Community Outreach & Empowerment
Volunteer mobilization, community prayer walks, household engagement, and grassroots partnerships with local leaders and churches — keeping Trickle Up embedded in the neighbourhoods we serve, not operating above them.
Food Drive
Vulnerable households and refugee families facing food insecurity receive practical, dignified support through household food assistance and emergency response — always paired with a pathway toward longer-term stability.
Refugee Support & Integration
Reception support, community orientation, and social integration pathways for newly arrived refugee families from Somalia, DR Congo, Burundi, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and beyond — helping them navigate systems and connect with livelihoods.
Community Care & Humanitarian Response
Emergency food relief, household support packages, and hygiene assistance for the most vulnerable families — always delivered with dignity and paired with a pathway toward longer-term self-reliance, never as one-off handouts.
Skills Elevation
Many of the people we serve — including refugee craftspeople and cooks with exceptional traditional skills — already have talent; what they lack is market access. Skills Elevation provides mentorship, product development support, and networking that turns existing skill into sustainable income.
Refugee Livelihoods & Economic Inclusion
Mentorship, product development support, and market-access linkages for refugee entrepreneurs who already possess exceptional craft, culinary, or agricultural skills — converting existing talent into sustainable income and dignified livelihoods.
